Vacation with the Alltons

This past week was a lot of fun! On Sunday the 24th, we all piled into the van and drove to Salt Lake City, where we met up with Grandpa Marc, and Grandma Margie, Eva and Allison and Devin, and of course Gabe. It was my first time to meet Gabe, and he sure is a cool young man. We have a quite a bit in common. We didn't do much Sunday evening when we got to Salt Lake, but we all chatted and caught up with each other.

Monday, we missed seeing the parade, other than the last float ha ha! So we walked around the Temple, took some pictures, then we went in side of the Church History Museum. There is a lot of neat history in that building. My favorite part were the drawings that the children around the world drew about things that have happened through the history of the church. We then ate lunch at Tucanos, a Brazilian restaurant that was quite tasty. Unfortunately Maddie wasn't feeling so hot in Salt Lake so she missed out on the good lunch. :( After lunch we watched the new Harry Potter movie in 3D. It was a good movie, but the 3D part of it gave me a head ache, but was probably worse on Maddie's stomach.

Monday night we hung out in the Hotel, then Tuesday Morning we got up, packed our things and off to West Yellowstone we went. West Yellowstone is actually in Montana, and it is a pretty cool town. A good town to visit. We arrived around 5:00 PM, and we just hung out in the hotel rooms that night. Wednesday morning we woke up, and went into Yellowstone! We were there until about 4:30 PM. We saw lots of paint pots, sulfur cauldrons, geysers including Old Faithful! It was fun, however the sulfur cauldrons didn't smell very good. Thursday we woke up really early and went white water rafting in Gardiner Montana. Rafting was so much fun! After the rafting we went and saw some really pretty waterfalls! That evening we went to a Bear and Wolf exhibit where there were 6 live bears and 8 live wolves. They were all so pretty. Two of the bears were really big!

Friday was a fun day also, we went and saw some more sulfur cauldrons, as well as another waterfall. After that we did some shopping, swimming, and a game of mini golf. I was the winner!

Saturday, we woke up early and back to Saint George we came. Now that it is all over, I can say that I had such a fun time.
